The 2008 Formula 1 World Championship calendar was ratified at a meeting of the FIA's World Motor Sport Council on October 24. There are no date or event changes from the previously published list, with the first grand prix of the new 18-race season set to get underway on Sunday March 16 in Australia. The first street race in Valencia will take place on August 24, while Singapore will stage F1's first floodlit grand prix on September 28. Interlagos in Brazil will again host the season finale.
